Is your wallet cooked?
Every time you send a transaction, your wallet's public key goes on-chain permanently. A sufficiently powerful quantum computer can run Shor's algorithm on it — and derive your private key. Check yours below.
Three steps to getting cooked
The attack is purely mathematical. No hacking required — just time and a big enough quantum computer.
Step 01
You send a transaction
The moment you sign and broadcast a transaction, your wallet's full public key is permanently recorded on-chain. It was always there — now it's readable by anyone.
Step 02
Shor's algorithm runs
A quantum computer applies Shor's algorithm to your public key. Classical computers would need billions of years to crack elliptic curve cryptography. A quantum computer with enough qubits does it in hours.
Step 03
Your wallet gets drained
With your private key in hand, the attacker signs a transaction sending everything to themselves. You get nothing. There's no recourse. Your wallet is cooked.
